Congregation Identity Committee: Our purpose is to recognize how God has uniquely shaped our fellowship in the past as a solid basis to discover where He might be leading our congregation in the future. Contact Joe Farley if you are interested in serving on this committee.
Student Membership Class: Students in grades 7-10 are completing a four-week membership class with Pastor Rich during Sunday School (9:30 to 10:30 am) beginning today and going through March 3. Participation in the class may lead to baptism or confirmation at our Easter service, but this is not a requirement. Students in grades 11 and 12 will have a separate Sunday School class with Therese Coffeen during these four weeks.
February PADS. Each month, NSCCC sets up sleeping mats and a children's play area at First Presbyterian Church in Deerfield as part of their weekly shelter for the homeless. Please contact Joe Farley (224-622-7660 mobile) if you would like to help next Sunday, February 17 at 1:30 pm for 60 minutes.
Children’s Mentorship Program: This Spring Quarter (March-April-May), we will be kicking off a full season of weekly, hour-long mentorship sessions in the Children’s Program. If you would like to provide mentorship for children in a Christ-centered, small group setting using a talent or skill you have, please contact Angel Lee or Pastor Mike. We are looking for one or two more mentors, along with an Administrative Assistant for this program.
In addition, our traditional Children's Sunday school program needs 2 more teachers for the Spring quarter. Please check the sign up sheet on the bulletin board outside of the Children's Wing and see Angel Lee for more information.
Bulletin Updates: It takes many hands to put together each worship service, including someone to update the weekly worship bulletin. Those working behind the scenes on it are indeed the hands and feet of Jesus! We’d now like to share this ministry task with a couple more people. If you’d like to learn how to serve in this way, please see anyone from the EMC (listed on the back of this bulletin).
Mission's Bulletin Board: There are new letters posted on the bulletin board (to the left of the Multi-Purpose Room) from the Atkinsons, McFalls, and others. These letters are from the missionaries that NSCCC supports, many of whom were part of our congregations at one time. With important news and prayer requests, please take a copy to stay up to date with the work God is doing around the world through our church.
Flowers in Winter: We need help in 2019 providing flowers for the Sanctuary on Sundays from January to June. See Mary Kay to sign up.
