Announcements for Sunday, January 14, 2018

Flower Ministry: Every Sunday a church member provides flowers to help decorate the sanctuary. For the months of January through June, members of the English congregation provide them. If you would like to participate by bringing flowers one Sunday, please contact Lin Liu at linliu8@gmail.com and sign up for an open date.

FHK Renovation: Painting is complete in the Fellowship Hall and Kitchen. We are now waiting for our contractor to complete the required fire sprinkler modifications before proceeding with flooring and kitchen reinstallation. Thanks to your contributions, the FHK Fund has reached $115,733. But please continue to donate as the projected cost of the project has increased to $129,000. These increases are due to required electric upgrades, fire safety improvements, and asbestos abatement. For safety purposes, please do not enter the portion of the lower level that is currently a construction zone. Please also continue to watch the lobby monitor for FHK updates. Contact our church Trustee, Nelson Chueng, with any questions or suggestions.

First Night Success: Thank you to everyone who made our First Night celebration such a memorable time. All who set up and took down the multi-purpose room, helped with children and teen activities, prepared food, and washed dishes were used by the Lord to work together to usher in 2018 at NSCCC. May God bless us all in the new year!

PADS Set-up Third Sunday. Each month, we join 10 other organizations to help Lake County individuals and families who are experiencing a housing crisis. Please contact Sylvia Chen (630-708-7257 mobile) if you are interested in helping to set up an overnight shelter at First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield at 1:30 pm on Sunday, January 21. We will meet in the church lobby and travel to the shelter site together. Setup generally takes 60-90 minutes.

Short Term Missions Survey: The Missions Committee is conducting a survey for those interested in our Short Term Missions opportunities for 2018. We have four potential trips to consider, and please see either Troy Hetz or Pastor Mike if you still need to fill out the survey.
