Announcements for January 22, 2012

Guest Preacher: Today we welcome John Bentley as our guest preacher. John is the Executive Director of Harmony Outreach, which reaches out with hands of love to orphaned children and vulnerable people in China, Ethiopia, and Cambodia.

Chinese New Year Celebration: Next Saturday, January 28th, the English Congregation will host an evening that brings together cultural insight and the Gospel message. We believe you will be able to enjoy this celebration with people from your community and network of friends. Today is the last day to buy tickets. For more information, please see Debbie Chieng.

February Concert at NSCCC: We have the exciting opportunity of hosting Tim Be Told, a Contemporary Christian music group whose goal is to promote honesty, hope, redemption, and change. Their musical style incorporates elements of soul, pop, rock, gospel and blues. They are coming to our church on Saturday, February 18th, as part of their national tour of churches and college campuses. This event is for our entire church, and you are highly encouraged to invite your friends. Admission is $10. Service Opportunity: We need more ushers to add to the rotation for our weekly worship service. God desires order and community in his worship services, and ushers play an important role in making that happen. Please see Larry Hui for more information or to sign up.

Spring Teachers Needed: The Spring Quarter is around the corner and our Children's Ministry is still in need of several teachers. Please pray for the Lord to meet our need:

4- and 5-year-olds
3rd - 4th Grade
5th - 6th Grade

Super Bowl Party! Whether you come for the game, the commercials, the food or just to hang out please join us on Sunday, February 5, at Matt and Jennie Hsieh's house. Kick off is at 5:30pm, but the doors open at 4:30pm. We will be having a potluck dinner and details of what to bring will be on an Evite. If you did not receive an Evite please contact Matt or Jennie. Yes, kids are welcome!

God richly blessed our church in 2011. Though the total Offerings did not match our Budget, expenses also were held below Budget, and no deficit was incurred. Thank you for your generous giving: you are an answer to prayer and proof that God provides for his church.
