Summer Retreat: How EASY it is to jump from one distraction to the next and end up with only the scraps of your attention left to give. It’s a CHALLENGE to “Be An Ever-Present, Devoted Person.” This is the theme for our summer retreat, which will be held on June 21-23 at Judson University in Elgin. The Registration Form is available in the Lobby at the Welcome Booth – please fill out and return to Wei-Lin Koo. (Early Bird Registration continues through TODAY.) We hope for a great turnout this summer!

Gardeners wanted for the Church Landscaping Project: This past fall, incorporating input from church members and children’s ministry, a landscape plan was prepared for the circular island in front of the church parking lot.  The plan included planting new serviceberry trees, a washed gravel rain garden, spring bulbs, and children’s planting area in front.  We invite further participation from any of our church ministry programs or members interested in contributing time for planting, watering or helping maintain the garden, and be part of the Garden Team!  We aim to make it a fun way to serve the church.  A meeting has been scheduled for Saturday 5/25 at 9am.  Please contact Nelson Chueng for more details.

Missions Spotlight: The NSCCC Short Term Missions Team is confirmed to serve July 14-20 at a family camp for about 60 students ages 5-15. This will be our ninth year serving at this area in the Far East. Our team of ten, including Kristin Shau, Alex Dong, Michelle Chen, Sylvia Chen, Elijah Leong, Shawn Yu, and Helen Yu is preparing. Please pray for them and visit the “Sign up for STM Support” at the lobby table.

Fund for Ava and Ian Hsieh: For those grieving the passing of Rebekah Hsieh, and to contribute to the “Fund for Ava and Ian Hsieh,” Rebekah and Benjamin’s children, you may send your check to Ben Hsieh at 16300 Barlow Drive, Oregon City, OR 97045.

Summer of Prayer: We’d like to take advantage of this summer to pursue new avenues of prayer. If you’d like to help decide on when, where, and various formats for prayer, please contact Pastor Mike by May 26.

Mother/Daughter Fellowship:  We will meet this afternoon at 12:30-2:00. Please pack a lunch to eat at church (the room is TBD). We will begin with a short devotional activity based upon the book “Lies Girls Believe”. Then the daughters can enjoy a game time together, while the mothers have a time of fellowship and prayer. We will loosely base our prayer format similar to “Moms in Prayer”, which Amy will introduce.

Lunch Fellowship May 26: We plan to gather for lunch fellowship at Potbelly Sandwich Shop in Deerfield Square on May 26. From 12:30 – 2:30pm, Pot Belly will also donate 20% of the total bill to NSCCC. Just say, “We’re with the church,” when you order.

Summer Women’s Bible Study: Please join us for our Summer Women’s Bible Study starting on Friday, June 7 from 7:15–9:15pm at Mary Kay’s home. We will be having fellowship, prayer, and discussions on 2 Timothy about being entrusted with the Gospel and entrusting it to others. This is a 5-week series for building up our community of sisters in Christ.
