Pastoral Position Announcement
North Shore Chinese Christian Church, located in the north suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, is seeking a full-time pastor to work with a growing, multi-cultural, English-speaking congregation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Divinity degree from an Evangelical Seminary
- Bi-cultural church ministry experience
- Cultural sensitivity to Chinese-American church
- Willingness to work within a team oriented approach to ministry
Context of Ministry
Non-denominational, evangelical church with 2 congregations:
English speaking – approximately 100 attendees
Chinese speaking – approximately 160 attendees
English speaking congregation consists of:
70% families, 20% young career, 10% youth
General Ministry Responsibilities
- Oversee weekly Worship Service, including regular preaching
- Provide pastoral care for congregation members
- Member of Church Board
- Supervise church staff (consisting of part-time lay positions)
- Nurture and develop lay leaders from congregation
- Manage fellowship events and ministries
- Disciple individual members of congregation
Salary and benefits are negotiable and dependent on training/experience
