How do I use online giving on the website?
Click on "Donate" and you will be take to NSCCC's online giving portal. Complete the initial registration process to set up a giving account. You can choose to give by connecting your bank account or using your credit card. Based on the option you choose, there are different transaction fees. Please reach out to us through the contact form if you have any questions, and need help.
Are there any fees associated with online giving?
There are fees depending on your choice of giving. However, as the donor, you have the option to cover the fee so that NSCCC receives your full giving amount. The fees are as follows:

2.15% + $0.30/donation for credit and debit card donations

0% + $0.25 per ACH bank transfer donation
Is all this the same for mobile and text-to-give?
Yes, the first time you use any of these options, you will have to get set up. The fees vary depending on your chosen method of giving, either credit card or bank transfer. You have the option to cover the fee so that NSCCC receives your full giving amount. The fees are as follows:

What is the mobile app?
NSCCC uses the Church Center mobile app. You can find it on Apple's App Store or Google's Play store. The first time you use it will require you to look up North Shore Chinese Christian Church and associate it with your account. Then you will have the choice to give through credit card (Including Apply Pay) or bank transfer. The fees vary depending on your chosen method of giving, either credit card or bank transfer. You have the option to cover the fee so that NSCCC receives your full giving amount. The fees are as follows:

Can I give stock or mutual Funds?
You can donate it to the NSCCC Fidelity account and take a tax deduction for its full market value: Please contact EMC Chair for more information.
Can I use a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)?
A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $100,000 total to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions (RMD). QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your RMD for the year, as long as certain rules are met. In addition to the benefits of giving to charity, a QCD excludes the amount donated from taxable income, which is unlike regular withdrawals from an IRA. Reducing your taxable income may have other tax impacts so please consult your tax preparer or accountant.
