About us

Brief History of North Shore Chinese Christian Church:

The North Shore Chinese Christian Church was founded in April 1977. Worship services were initially held on the campus of Trinity International University. In May of 1979, the church moved to the First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield, where they rented the chapel for their worship services.

Through God’s provision, in June 1989 NSCCC was able to purchase our current property where worship services are held today. From the church’s inception, worship services were conducted only in Mandarin, but in April 1991, an English congregation was formed to meet the growing needs of Asian-American Christians in the North Shore suburbs.

Since then, by God’s grace both congregations have grown in number and added various pastoral and administrative staff to the point today where we have pastors for both the Chinese and English congregations, a youth pastor, a children’s ministry director, a church secretary and a facilities manager. In December of 2008, we completed a major building expansion and moved into our new facilities, dedicating them to God on April 18, 2009.

In January 2003 a church was planted in Gurnee, IL with Rev. Jeff C. Ho as the first Pastor of the Gurnee Chinese Christian Church.

We look forward to how God will continue to deepen and expand our ministry for His glory.
