Building Communities That Reveal Christ
We aim to reveal Christ through our love-filled believers and communities that RELY on Him. We can also use RELY as an acronym that helps us understand and apply our mission.

R=Reveal Christ
When on earth, Jesus revealed the Father, and until He returns from Heaven, we glorify Christ by revealing Him. Based on the doctrine of our Union with Christ, Jesus’ character and His deeds can be manifested in us. For example, His glory, sacrificial love, wisdom, grace and righteousness emerge as we abide in Christ. By manifesting the hallmarks of Christ, we become the evidence to our claim that Jesus is the Son of God. Bearing Christ’s image also shows the world how much God loves His people, a key component in drawing unbelievers to Christ.

Biblical Reference:
“I glorified You on earth, having accomplished the work which You have given me to do.”
John 17:4

“The glory that you have given me I have given to them… so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.”
John 17:22-23
E=Equip God's People
We want to equip our congregation to reveal Christ through Christ-centered teaching and fellowship opportunities. The primary responsibility of the church is to train up the congregation in the Word so that “we all attain to have the unity of faith and the knowledge of the Son of God” in order for our church community to go and do the “work of ministry”.
Biblical Reference:
“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.”
Ephesians 4:11-14

L=Love One Another Through Biblical Community
We want to be a loving, Biblical Community that is encouraging, compassionate and devoted to one another as Christ portrayed among His friends. Sacrificing one’s own interests for the good of others is a great measure of his/her love for them.
Biblical Reference:
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends."
John 15:12-13

Y=beYond Ourselves and Our Congregation Revealing Christ to the World
As we reveal Christ, it extends our reach into the lives of people all around us, even beyond our communities and
our church. The focus of our ministries should not only be inward towards our congregation, but also be a beacon in a
fallen world.
Biblical Reference:
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16
